    Hi peeps,

Just put our courgettes in this weekend, and have never grown them before although we do enjoy eating them. How are yours doing? are they in yet? hardening off? already cropping?

Here is a picture of ours - Courgette plants

is there anything we should be looking out for?

also this week down the plot we, transplanted the rest of the leeks and celery, mulched and weeded, and harvested the first full salads and strawberries. Also the full blooms of the sweet peas are out

    Regards
    Lottieblogs

Well your plot looks great Lottieblogs - not a weed in sight and lots of stuff growing well.

Our courgette (note the singular) has produced its first courgette that will be ready in about a week from now. It's a Golden Dawn type sown on 22nd March. Normally I grow green ones and find that two plants are too many, so cut back to one plant this year, but it looks like this variety will not crop as well and I'm wishing I'd grown two.
Only advice I'd offer is to keep them watered and fed and keep picking when small.

By the way if you've not already tried it rhubarb stewed with strawberries is great. I've been eating it mixed with muesli for breakfast as well as as a sweet course with icecream.

I love sugar peas, always sow mostly those.
When my daughters were younger I used to bottle loads of fruit to last us through winter, rhubarb and strawberry was excellent. Also good jam, made the strawberries go further!
