My wife is trying her hand at outdoor tomatoes this year, she asked me when she should start to feed the plants and when to stop!
I have to confess I did not have a definitive answer for her. Has anyone a strict protocol they have used sucessfully?

You usually start feeding when the first truss has appeared and carry on through the summer, doing what it says on the tomato feed bottle. ;)

Because I was overrun with the stuff and didn't know how to dispose of it safely(Iactually killed an apple tree with the stuff one year)I now let it run freely into the soil. I'll start collecting it again when I learn safe dilutions.
I had, must have been 30 litre bottles full.

JohnBinks, worm juice should be diluted roughly 10 parts water - 1 of worm juice. It should then look like weak tea. Lovely stuff :D

Has anyone planted their outdoor tomatoes outdoors yet? My tomatoes are ready for planting out, they are flowering but still in pots. Is it safe to plant them out yet?
