brussel sprouts

    I have sown my sprouts in pots in the green house. they are now about 3" tall, when should i plant them out into their veggie bed?

    Hi Celia, ideally the seedlings are ready for transplanting when they are 4 to 6in high.Water the rows the day before transplanting.Plant firmly with the lowest leaves just above the soil surface.Leave 2 and a half foot between plants.Good luck.I tried last yr but most of them were more like a mini cabbage.

    Thanks Elaine, a little more waiting to do I think. Do they need hardening off first?
