I've just looked back and seen that I planted my bean seeds on the 9th. They have just popped up so a week isn't too bad [IMG] [IMG] . They are in an unheated greenhouse with open windows. I never got around to putting some in the propagator to do a comparison [IMG] but Mrs shiney is experimenting by putting some seeds in a plastic container wrapped in damp kitchen paper. They have formed roots in two days and have now been put in pots.

hi I have planted my runner beans seed spread out in a seed tray in seed compost covered with newspaper, and kept moist in a cold greenhouse,
they took just over a week to germinate, and when the shoots was just showing I eased them out with my fingers, and planted them in the garden about a week ago, they are about 6inches high now, at least this way I don't have to worry whether they are going to grow or not. Don't forget to put slug pellets round as the little darlings love the new shoots
