Hi, josephine. I did mine from a supermarket piece and got nice leaves which died off (even here) in the winter. To be honest, I've not dug around to see the root and it hasn't sent anything new up yet.

We had several discussions about this last year, so no doubt someone else will come on and give some advice.

Hi sweetheart, nice to hear from you.
What did you do with the bulb did you cut it up in to bits and then plant it.

Hi Josie. Yes, planted little bits with "nodes" in compost, kept it moist and it took quite quickly. My sister (Kedi-Gato in Germany) did the same and she didn't have such good luck but I THINK they took in the end.

Been busy of late, but will catch up with you soon. [IMG]

I grew some from supermarket roots, I found it likes a lot of heat and rots very easily if cool and wet.

Never tried growing root gigner before. It reminds me of the jeruselem artichoke I once made the mistake of growing! Couldn't get rid of the stuff for years later! The least little section of root took and spread for the next season. Damned stuff!!
