I grew some raspberries this year for the first time, and had reasonable success as I was told I wouldn't get a harvest the first year.
They are now putting up runners (dozens of 'em) my question is, should I pot these runners up now as there are too many to leave in the bed, or should I wait until the Spring.

I think I'd wait til spring now, although they are tough the soil is getting very cold, unless you can pot them up and keep in a cold frame or GH.

This is an extract from my website; http://tinyurl.com/yjxmge

Week 45; Lift and transplant vigorous, healthy young sucker shoots.

Retain as much fibrous root as possible

Plant them 400-500mm (15ââ?¬Â-18ââ?¬Â) apart where required, cutting each one back to a good bud about 200mm (8ââ?¬Â) above ground level.

To avoid these plants bearing fruit during their first season remove the flowers as they appear.

I planted out my new canes two weeks ago.
