grew these from seed a few months ago. theyre only about 4" high, i keep them on my windowsill.i was wondering if i should pot them into new pots now?, the roots arent busting to get out but there is a good root structure, and what type of compost should i use.would it be ok to do this now at this time of year? thanks.

    Hi Tig,
I treat chillis just like tomatoes, same compost same liquid feed and so on. The one thing I have found to influence the growth of a chilli plant more than anything else is heat. The hotter they get the bigger and better the crop. Oh and the hotter the chillies get too.I think at this time of year the lack of sunlight hours will affect the growth of the plants however.

Wonderwoman planted peppers from seed this past year ... they turned out to be an assorted pack and some were long and thin like chillies
However they turned out not to be too hot at all. Cut lengthways and roasted in the oven with a little drizzel of olive oil they were the most delicate beautiful flavour ... terrific with monkfish, prawns and boiled rice [IMG]
