Some time ago there was athread describing how to pollenate melon flowers. Does this have to be done? My melon has now got quite a few flowers. Is it best to leave all, and have they time to develop?

Most of your flowers will be male initialy ,as soon as you spot afemale flower take off a male flower strip back the petals and pollinate.Do this with two or three females this is usually the limit I manage to develop. There is plenty of time to grow your plants to fruit at this time.

I would just like to let you all know that I picked my first melon today. It is delicious, so sweet and juicy.

I have another four or five yet to ripen. I can't wait. [IMG]
