Is it normal to get like sap coming out of tomato plant stems, or have my babies been attacked? It smells tomatoey and is a brownish colour.

is there any sign of infestation on the rest of the plant?
I wonder if this is the honeydew secreted by sap sucking insects...

No sign of any bugs or gribbley things as our friend put it in another post. Yesterday they had all but two wilted completely, they had looked perfectly healthy apart from possibly the "sap" the night before, so I've given them a saturating and put them on the kitchen window sill.
