    Hi all,

I laid new lawn last July and it was lovely and green for months.

I started getting weeds come up so i bought some weed killer ( not sure of the name but it was in granuels and you have a spreader to spread them about ). Anyway i have a feeling i put far to much on and slowly my grass is dying.

Is there anything i can do before it gets to late?

    Thanks

When did you put the weedkiller on? I assume it is specially for lawns? It has been pretty dry the last few days - could it be lack of water? If so the rain over the next few days should see some improvement. Have you tried feeding it at all?

Sorry Foxy I am a bit of a novice and struggling with my own lawn problems! No doubt someone with far more knowledge will be along soon.

I would seem strange that something meant for lawns would kill it though. Have you thought about contacting the weedkiller manufacturer, that's what I would do.

Be careful with the feed by the way as I think you are only supposed to use it so many times a year, if you have just done it you may not be able to do it again for a litte while

    hi foxy

i used feed and weed on my lawn afew years back and that was 18 month old turf which also seemed to turn the grass slowly brown and it started to die,
i put a little to much on and then the sun kind of burnt it i think it tells you not to use in hot weather (might be wrong)i think plus i had a lot of moss underneath the grass which also killed the grass above it.

best advise i can give you is to give it a good raking and water it well to get rid of any lawn stuff thats left and to get rid of the dead grass so new shoots can get through.

i don't use that stuff on lawns anymore i hand remove the weeds with a potato peeler and just used lawn feed that one with the frog on the advert 3 times a year !!

my lawn did come back after abut 4/5 months so fingers crossed yours will pull through

alot of people i know have used feed and weed and killed there grass off i have found it to be pretty harsh stuff .

im no expert but hope that helps alittle
