If it is warmer now in Glos, like here in the southeast, then the soil will be warm and moist, which is the best conditions to sow grass seed.

Hi Jane Louise this is only a personal opinion
But I would wait till nearer the End of the month
Beginning of April just to be sure. The other alternative If you must is to cover the area with a clear sheet of plastic if its practical to do this.after you have seeded. But I must stress I would wait.Good luck. [IMG]

Frost will be very bad news if you sow too soon, Jane - I agree with WOO - wait another few weeks at least.

Well, believe it or not,i actally surrenderd my flower patch over to Mr.fiz at allotments for Valantines day!(it`s a long story and i`m not sure i`ll ever get over it)This patch is in front of his pigeon cree, and he wants to turf it so his birds have somewhere to peck about etc.I`ve been on at him to hurry up and get on with it,before i turn Indian giver and take it back.I read that last month was the ideal time to do it but the whether is so unpredictable it`s probably better to wait a bit longer??...
