latest date for sowing grass seed

hi everyone, any idea when the latest time to sow grass seed? remember i live in west cumbria on the coast

 

officially you're too late. Good time to lay turf, though....

General daytime temp above 12 degrees Celcius will allow germination, albeit diurnal fluctuation will delay the germination but not subsequent growth. The young plants will grow slowly at this time of year anyway, and may be subject to damping off, die off from leaf cover, worm cast problems, etc. You choose.
