DOG FOULING

Hello this is my first time on the forum i need advice on how to stop a dog fouling on my lawn.i have tried the green crystals but it doesn't really work,can anyone help me on this ?

Seriously, the best way is to train the dog to go elsewhere. Guide dogs are always trained to go in a particular place so owners know where to clean up. Never succeeded with mine though!

 

Nor my sister's dog who often comes to stay!

no i don't have a dog.i have bought one of those electric dog and cat deterrants that gives a high pitch noise hopefully that will work.

 

Short true story. My wife was upstairs cleaning, when, she looked out of our landing window and horrified, saw a small chap with a small dog pooing in our border[ open plan at front extremly private back] she leaning out of the window, said "excuse me [sober] I hope you're going to pick that up" I haven't got a bag he replied, almost terrified, I would have been the same, " I'll get you one" and quickly decended the stairs the into our kitchen and outside with morrisons carrier bag, "here you are and don't let it happen again" He picked it up and left and he nor the dog have not been seen since.
The moral of the story is:- If you are a small man with a small dog..beware of the wife.

Pepper dust works quite well but only lasts until the next rain but hopefully by then regular dogs will know its not a place to sniff and drop!

 

I saw a dog mess on my back garden this morning and its owner stood and watched.They were gone before I got up there but as dog walkers using the path usually return,I scooped the massive lump to the middle of the path and went back in...15 minutes later he came back and guess what? :D .....and I think he had good tread on his boots too

I have two little dogs, when I take them out for excersize I always have in my pockets small plastic bags They do a good line in nappie bags in Tescos, value range...It is the cats that are the trouble.

 

having purchased a dog/cat ultrasonic deterant touch wood i so far seem to of stopped it.also i personnaly caught it in my garden chased it off myself.so far so good

 

The dog of neighbours on one side of me uses the front lawn of the neighbour on the other side as its personal latrine! Trouble is, we can never catch the little so-and-so at it!

 

To deter dogs or cats, try to catch them at it and use a large water pistol to give a good hard squirt...this is more effective with cats and even better if they can't see you... it's also childishly satisfying!

 

I have read all the posts with amixture of amusement and agreement. I have used a large pump-up water pistol with good effect upon cats. Unfortunately their memories are good and as there is a large open space for them to approach I cannot surprise them any more. I therefore purchased a sonic deterrent which has been in position for 2 months. Cats generally avoid the area, but can sneak round the back of the box only to find me and the water pistol laying in wait!!
