would be gratefull for advice on creating a raised bed. at the moment I have filled it up with multi purpose compost and lined it with old carpet( Hubby said they used carpet on tv prog. )surely I need to mix with soil or it will just dry out too quick. I have a bucket of chicken fertiliser pellets . will this be enough or should I use blood fish and bone too?Hope someone can help. I can grow from seed in greenhouse but always lose veg to slugs and snails so hoping raised bed will be easier to keep the little blighters off. can't use slug pellets as have pets (environment ones dont work)

Hi try filling it with top soil, it will be better than compost. I have a dog but she never touches the blue slug pellets. [IMG]
