Can anybody help me I just love magnolias but only having a small garden do no really have enough room. Is there a small species of magnolia that can be put in a large container and go on the deck.

I think Magnolia Stellata should do well in a large container for a fair number of years.

I planted a 'Stellata' in my friend's small front garden last year and it's just coming into bloom now. It's about 3ft high at the moment.

If I remember right they can grow to 10 -15 ft. but are easily controlled with pruning.
