GRAPE VINES

I HAD A VINE GIVEN ME BY MY DAUGHTER IT WAS GROWN IN A CONSERVATOY WITH ITS ROOTS GROW OUTSIDE I HAVE TRANSPLANTED IT OUTSIDE 5YEARS AGO ON A WEST FACEING WALL BUT UP TO NOW I HAVE NOT GOT ANY FRUIT APPEARING IT IS A DESSERT GRAPE DO NOT NO THE NAME OF IT PLEASE PLEASE CAN ANYBODY HELP ME.

 

Hi Jeni,

You could be struggling to get a desert grape to ripen on a west wall in Wales.

First question though, has your vine ever flowered? If it hasn't then you have no chance of it bearing fruit.

The next question is, have you ever pruned the vine. Successfull fruiting is all in the pruning and some vines can be pernickity. You'll find a good basic guide here.
