When we moved in last year, this was a large bush, which appeared to be dead. So I cut it right back to ground level, and now it has something growing out of it, and it is rather pretty too (pink flowers). Any idea what it is?

Thanks, Strongylodon. Does flowering currant get real currants?

Rosie it is purely ornamental, it's in the same family as the fruiting currants and Gooseberry.
There are many colours available now from dark red to almost white. They are, like Forsythia, one of the first flowering shrubs of spring. [IMG]
