    Well i'm slowly getting there.
The tables have turned due to my worsening health so i'm doing what i can, but i would so love a place to relax in the summer.

I'm hoping soon i can get help sorting out my conservatory, unfortunately everytime i'm promised help something gets in the way, and i simply cant do it alone, which is annoying, but one day i'll get there.

Our rickety old shed and broken down mini green house really needs taking down and removing, but again i dont see that happening any time soon. :(

The garden is littered with all sorts of stuff, broken bird tables, my cages as i have no storage when they're not in use, old toys from the kids when they used to come over and play years ago... the list is endless.

I'm discussing with my dad him storing my cages, as the turn about for them is going to be extremely minimal now. So thats a big portion sorted, but it looks like i might have to get a bloke with a van to help me, maybe appeal on freecycle!

Darren always has every intention of helping me, but he does so much already for me, and is easily distracted by the PC, and as i'm not a pushy girlfriend, i'm not very good at whining for it to get done, and when i do, i feel rubbishy.

I'm hoping dad and his van will come over and lend a hand soon!

Anyway! To raise my spirits and introduce colour which i so severely need, i bought today some nice big pots, some lily bulbs, a rose to bury my darling Morgan under, a gorgeous red patio rose named Peter Pan [IMG] Very applicable, as Morgan is named after the pirate captain morgan and i'm a biiig lover of Peter Pan. I'm painting the quote on the pot 'To die would be an awrfully great adventure' from the book itself. Thats my Morgan through and through.

I'm also bought 7 pots of primroses, some dwarf irises, dwarf dafs of 2 varieties, red and yellow tulips and purple and yellow crocuses :D I plan to turf out and reuse some of the lovely big pots that are overgrown in the garden from when Darrens mum used to garden, and fill those up, plus i bought a basket for my sweetpea sweetlings to fall from [they're hanging ones] and also some canes to pot up with my climbing sweetlings.

I'm far off from a gorgeous garden, but i'm on the way, and these beautiful plants make me smile!

Next visit i want more alpines and big dafs! And i dont feel right without pansies and ivy pots!

I'll show photos when i can!

Hi Whiley... I see you are from my part of the world too. I wonder if you go to Otter Nurseries too for your plants??? Sounds like you have plenty of work to do in your garden, but take it easy..no point in rushing it.

Whiley sweetheart take things one step at a time set yourself one goal and aim to do it in a reasonable time span although saying that you just may find that you 'get lost' in your gardening adventure and work like a trooper even without any help! :D

I must admit the Peter Pan quote is indeed a wonderful idea to put on a pot for your beloved Morgan, it will allow you to remember her beauty and charming nature every time the rose blooms.

I will of course look forward to see your progress in the garden and I dare bet in next to no time it will indeed be your little piece of heaven. [IMG]

Thank you ladies! I love that quote, it means a lot to me. We plated up the rose in its gorgeous pot yesterday, i haven't had a chance to find a glaze-safe paint just yet, but we've buried Morgan, and i'm feeling so much better now.

I went out to check out some of the other plants in the garden and see if i could find pots to reuse, and found many! I lovely narrow pot which is perfect for my sweetpeas and canes which has an alpine all alone in it. I'm going to pop the alpine in with some primroses in a bigger urn shaped pot i found at the back under the pine, but i also found a charming little shrub i'm about to hunt out an ID for, and also a flowering biggy shrub emerging from what looks to me like jumbo bay leafs!

I'm also off to my dads later, my mum and dad have recently broken up, and mum decided she didn't want any of her plants, but also left some of my plants from when i had to move house over there! Some pentsimones [aah i cant remember how to pronounce it!] a citrenella lily, Mr Geranium - who is now humongo appartently, among others.

I may indeedy claim them back, plus any dad doesnt want to keep. I'm holding out for the young torbay palm.

I'm taking it easy at the moment, but i do long to relax out there in the sunshine whenever i see it!

Eileen, i'm in COuntess Wear! I adore Otter nurseries but Darren hates going around garden centres so i go hobble up to Seabrook nurseries which is just around the corner, have a look around, purchase, hobble home, and prod him in the ribs until he goes and picks it up in the car for me. :D

Would love to have a cuppa tea sometime?

I can't find any ID on the other shrubby i found that i like, so i'll have to take a photo soon, but i think my flowering pink thingy is most like a Rose of Sharon! Aphrodite being the most similar variety.

Is this even in the slightest bit possible? It doesn't look very hibiscusy to me, but that is the closest!

Like that but without so much of a steman [wander if she spelt that right either, or even got the plant bit right]

Does anyone know anything about this plant? How long does it flower for?

Also, found this chap going quite nicely in a pot, what is he?

Evening Whiley. The one in flower is a Camellia, which is next to a Skimmia. I`m probably wrong, but the bottom one looks like a Deutzia to me.

The bottom one to me looks like Daphne Odora Marginata, when the flowers are fully open have a sniff (or are we both wrong?) :D
Got a nice Camelia there Whiley, it has a lot of buds on it so it should flower for some time [IMG]
