Dividing miscanthus

    Is now the time to do this?? It's starting to shoot.....how 'shooty' should it be before I split it?? :D

    "Once actively growing" is the term I've found, Windy - so I'd wait a little bit longer, although it would probably be ok now. I found this site which looks really useful re grasses generally, and have bookmarked it for myself - have a look for yourself.....

    Nothing to do with what is growing above ground, the time to divide grasses is when the ROOTS are beginning to regrow and that is all down to soil temperature. If your weeds are growing then it is time to get your grass split,
