    Hi

Can anybody tell me what the below plant is and whether it is a perennial. (I bought it from a florist and it had no label.) The florist told me that it would stand being in shade (I think she may have said this so I would buy it.) It seems to be doing fine at the moment. (I planted it 2 weeks ago) but it is getting sun after 4pm at the moment and won't be later on in the year. Should I move it into sun to prevent it dying?

Looks like a lobelia. They come in a wide variety of shades and colours. Old border favourite and also popular trailing forms for hanging baskets.

Half hardy perenial, usually grown as an annual in the UK. Will do OK in part sun and dappled shade but might go leggy in solid shadows.

Thomson & Morgan: Lobelia x geradii
