At the weekend I went to a local horticultural society plant sale, what a find!!! Lots of lovely looking plants for a price that is way below that of garden centres. If you're starting out trying to fill a new garden look out for one happening around you. I will for sure go back again. I managed to get some lovely succulents (6) that I made a nice feature pot with. A plant with Vesuvius in its name and another which I can't remember the name. In the rush of the sale, the names I have forgotten. I may be asking for some ID's in future once they flower!

Yes, I would agree Fran about Astantia. It should be comining into flower now, and I am wondering if that is a bud at the top. Its one of my favorite plants. Mine flowered last year for 16 weeks for A.Hadspen Blood (dark red) and 20 weeks for A.Buckland (larger flower - white), with a gap in August when I cut them back.

The plants either side of the second aloe vera look like sempervivums. The one at 11 o'clock with the spider web type of centre is arachnoides (no prizes for guessing why).

The plant in the turquoise pot looks like one I've got which has daisy like flowers.

Thanks to all who gave identification, the plant in the turquoise/green pot had Vesuvius in its name, that I do remember. The Astantia does have a bud on top, I'm really pleased to hear that it should produce flowers soon. Thanks again!

The plant in the turquoise pot could be a Penstemmon species - cannot remember the name but was on the list of plants used in the D Telegraph garden at Chelsea

Agree with Chobart - looks like a penstemon - don't know which. If so, it's half-hardy, so take cuttings in the autumn to make sure that you still have some if it's a hard winter. ;)
