poppies

    Kathy I don't know where you got your poppy from but i think it is from a seed raised batch. It is the easiest way for growers to get a large number of plants quickly rather than by dividing existing plants. I think someone has simply pricked out 3 tiny seedlings into one pot rather than into seperate pots. Later in the year you can dig up the plant, wash off the soil from the roots and try to disentangle the roots of the 3 plants.
    Note: if you break any roots and leave them in the ground they will grow as well. Oriental poppies are notoriously easy to grow from root cuttings.

    Just spoke to my dad and he doesn't know what they're called - been in the garden years. He's happy to save some seeds for you though, if you send me a private message with your address, we'll send them to you. :D :D

    Lovely, all of them. I've never seen a white one or a peony poppy before, very unusual.
