Thanks Pal, I've had it in a pot(or two) for 12 years but never known the variety.

Clematis armandii, the perfume is outstanding, it's a month early as are most plants this year. Taken this afternoon.

Our garden is only small and consists of raised beds, water features, a pond and rockery area which is newly planted and not yet completed.

Lady at the well, not working because the birds like to bath in the shell

These frogs are enjoying themselves, hope the goldfish survive this year - we now have 8 pairs of frogs in the small pond, so much spawn, do you think the fish will eat it?

    Taken at midnight

Goldfish and frogspawn don't go well together, can you move the spawn somewhere with some of the pond water to stop them being gobbled up!

A beautiful Clianthus Pete, did you grow it from seed or was it a grafted plant?
Talking about late and early, Ceanothus is in flower and there are still a few daffs out and Laburnum coming into leaf. My Callistemon Citrinus Splendens has a flower open and there were quite a few Bluebells out on our walk this afternoon. [IMG]

The clianthus is puncineus so its from seed and in the garden, but benefiting from the mild winter.
I have grown formosus but that is a completely different "kettle of fish", and not something I seem to have much luck with these days.

It seems that the mild winter has caused most spring flowering plants to come early, but just a few have been held back.
