It's chucking it down outside just now, and has been for ages, so it's nice to see a picture like this to cheer me up!
    :D

Very nice pictures Dendy and Dag. But Dag - where does the rainbow end? You have got two. Its not often that you see a picture of a secondary rainbow as well as the primary. The secondary rainbow has two internal reflections of light, instead of the single reflection in the primary.

Hi, PeterS! If you look carefully at my little pic - there's a second rainbow in it too - just doesn't show up too well being so small.
As for why - well - your explanation sounds good to me! :D

Yes Dendy - I spent all the time looking at the larger picture, but you can see it in the smaller picture. Have you noticed that the order of the colours is always reversed in the secondary rainbow.

I love rainbows! Well done, Dendro and DAG, and I do see the secondary one in yours Dendro.

In our rain season (late October - March, ha, ha) we get lots of rainbows because we have lots of sun and we nearly always have double ones. It's fantastic!

Peter, I didn't (nor t'other half) knew it was reversed colours ... I always say, I learn something on here every day!
