We were sitting in the garden on Thursday evening and saw a wren flitting about and thought she/he was catching insects in the hanging basket that I had not taken down from last year (too much effort needed as it was behind the rose bushes) then we realised that they were feeding some young.

If you look really closely you can just make out some hungry mouths.

Bet you are glad you didn't bother to move it- it looks really cosy. Hope they get on OK! [IMG] [IMG]

Looks a great place to nest..what a sensible little wren, unlike our blackbirds that seem to choose the daftest places they can find

Know what you mean Fran, their song is wonderful, they have been so busy feeding the birds non stop all weekend, don't know how old they are before they fledge! We have been sitting in the garden all weekend and had some freinds round for a Barbie after the football on Saturday so I was quite concerned about disturbing them, even moved the barbie so that we would not smoke them out, but they still carried on feeding their young, coming back with huge mouthfuls of insects, plenty about at the moment.

Don't know if it's the same pair but we have had a wrens nest in one of our trees for the last two years, wonder if they use old nests of make new ones each year  [IMG]
