Hi all, after a bit of advise.
Santa bought me a Tree Fern for christmas :D , but i dont know what to do with in this cold weather.

The plant is unpotted, and come from a garden centre where it was outside. The trunk is about 3 ft tall.

Do i plant it out now, if not what should i do with it

Should i protect it in anyway

    Thanks

    Kev

I think we could do with a positive ID here Kevin as to exactly what type of 'palm' it is before giving advice. Cordylines which are mostly hardy are refered to as palms but are not, Trachycarpus,Phoenix, Butias and Chamaerops need varying degrees of protection from nothing to south facing walls only depending on where they are. A pic would help. [IMG]

Its a tree fern, mines wrapped up in the greenhouse, but you do have it against the house and sort of wrapped.. you need pete or BM to advise you...Dee.

Good Kev, now we know it is a tree fern and not a palm. wherever you put it don't put it next to a wall, they have a very wide spread. [IMG]
