Yes so are mine, the ones left in the ground over winter are doing better than the ones started off in pots. [IMG]

This is in a pot and i put it in the greenhouse over winter, would prefer it and others in the ground, not sure if it would survive over winter?

I have done both, in the ground all year and brought on early in the greenhouse.
My method was to overwinter outside then dig up about Feb, split into good sized sections and pot up in the greenhouse.
I'd then grow them on till May and plant out.

I always found that if left in the ground they were slow to start in spring and always flowered late, in August.
By potting up and forcing a bit I could get flowers in early July.

As stated mine is in a pot and will either require a bigger pot or planting in the ground next year, so maybe i could over winter in greenhouse, split and plant outside about may.

Thats what I would do Keving, that way you get a head start.
    Thats not "Wyoming" is it?
With dark leaves, its always a bit late that one anyway.

Hi, Keving, my latest "thing" are Cannas also ... have four varieties now ... one in the ground, three in pots ... the only ones blooming are the pot ones ... ????????

In saying the above, I would love to find some space to put these beauties in the ground to spread. I will uproot in the autumn/winter here to do so.

I lived near Thame but never grew them there but I think you're mild enough.

Not sure if its "Wyoming", the leaves are red, as you say it appears late as its in a pot.

Hi, Keving, no ... Thame in Oxon, I lived in Upton in Bucks ... just a wee bit over the border, yes just down from the horrid M40. I worked in Thame and Kidlington and .... I was in Bucks for 23 years.

I have a peach hybrid with dark green strangely edged leaves (in Gallery, My Algarve Garden) if you want seeds of them. Others don't seem to seed ... I'm new to this flower.
