Have to agree that the leaves are like the Solanaceae family - reminded me of my pepino. Flower is a bit like the family too......

I'm pretty sure its a solanum, I have a few on the go at the moment, its what we used to call winter cherry.
They used to always be red fruits, but I got some seed from a plant that had orange fruits last year, in fact it can look like a miniature orange bush later with all the fruit. [IMG]
I'm with Hyla arborea on this

I'd like someone to put up a picture of S capsicastrum (Winter Cherry) with this leaf.

All the ones I have ever owned (which include the Jerusalem Cherry, more American) have small shiney leaves. I cannot see this in Sunshine2's picture.

PS ... I agree with Hy that we need to see this plant in more bloom or with fruit.

OK, I just took this, it was grown from seed this spring, the seed came from an orange fruited solanum "whatever" not sure of the species.
Its in a planter with Bacopa the other small white flowers in the pic.

Just seen this, it is Solanum probably Capsicastrum, I used to grow hundreds of them for the flowering section of the Palm house here, the leaves are usually a matt dark green if fed correctly.

    Evening, pete and strongy.

Sunshine2's plant looks like it has dull leaves not shiney. But you are saying strongy that the leaves are usually a matt dark green if fed correctly.

I've had these plants for years, lately one outside for several years (actually it's t'other half's because he likes them ... I just maintain it). So, I'm not feeding it correctly and never have done for twenty years. Okay, I'll go with that.

I'll take a pic of t'other half's tomorrow and we'll see the difference.

I did say it would take the "knowledgeable" ones to ID and I knew it would be one or both of you two .. but I'm only 90% convinced! [IMG]

Hy and I have had fun today ... how about you two?

I think it's from the potato family. It looks like a brugmansia leaf but obviously not the flower.

Certainly not orange, I live with them! [IMG]

Certainly not Brugansia, I have them! [IMG]

I think it's the Solanum capsicastrum, which I've had for a couple of years outside here .. just a super close up shop I couldn't recognise! [IMG]
