I'd like to re-plant an area of my garden next year and wondered if anyone can tell me their favourite tropical plants, for the garden or containers.

    Thanks. GF.

For me, it's the climbers. I've got seeds to try the mandevilla suaveolens this year, and the Ipomoea is always lovely, likewise Thunbergia.
Have a look on this site and you might get some ideas, GF

    Hi GF,
No tropical looking garden is complete I dont think without a few palms, trachycarpus being the easiest as its totally hardy, followed by cordyline, yuccas and the hardy bananas.
It all depends on how much protection you are prepared to give for the winter months.
Having said that there are plenty of hardy plants that have a tropical appearance.
