Hi, Pete! I'm starting this in a new thread so as not to invade your "Place" ... as this happens so often!

Here is the picture I said I'd send of my rooting ..



I thought they were quick growing but there's no hurry with this chappie to do anything spectacular!

 

I think they can be fast growing, but usually at the expense of flowers. It looks like carnosa, but I'm not that well up on them really. Once they flower the flowers form again on the same small stem next time, its a strange plant, so dont cut any dead flower stems off when it does start.

 

Thank you, Pete. I did read not to remove the dead flowers. I've had it a year and it's doubled in size so I guess, like with other plants, I'll have to be patient with this one.

Thanks, M-L, I have that page and there's lot of interesting info, but it hasn't helped me with my small slow-growing chappie/ette! :(

I don't know, M-L; were you thinking of the Christina or Joy? They seem to be American hybrids (ie, named after my sister, Joy) so I doubt it's one of them. There is a chance, however, this one came from Holland.

I thought i was the only one with slow growing hoyas :( i have two different ones in hanging baskets, they where in the greenhouse but i have now put them under the shaded area to see if that helps.

 

Hellow flowerofshona and welcome to GC! Another hurray (I have one with my ginger) two new shoots have shot out of my Hoya!

My is in a shady spot, no direct sun .. but that's because I get a little more of it here! :D

Have patience, sit back and relax and maybe yours, too, will spring into life!
