Would a 6ins/150mm deep raised bed be OK for onions.

    Cheers.

I do not have experience with growing onions in raised beds but 6 inches is probably enough. I have even read that onions grow well in 4 inches high raised beds.

Onions are not deep rooted Shimsham and they will be fine in 6".
I've grown them in containers that were no deeper than that.

    Hi Shimsham,

I'm potting up last years blubbing onions that are bolting into 6inch pots with only about 5 inches of soil on the window sill & they are coming on nicely as spring onions.
