tree cuttings and food crops

Strange question but i have planted some peas and im going to make a frame for them to climb up i have access to some trees that have very long thin stems that i can trim a few to make a frame from

the question is can the cut stems let out any toxins into the soil that would harm the peas and nearby onions

I don't know of any native trees that are toxic to under growth. The only problem plants have within a wood or forest is whether there is enough light. Make a clearing and it is very soon full of plants enjoying the light.
