Did anyone watch this on Sunday? Having read and enjoyed the books, I was interested to see how they would translate to TV. I was favourably impressed and thought it well cast and very true to the books. What did you think?

I believe they are going to run a series next year - I will certainly watch it.

    Hi Tia
I didn't know this was from a book, so can't comment on whether it was true to it.

I really enjoyed it. What a shame we have to wait until next year, i'll be watching too.
I think it will be a hit.

    cheers

I've read the books too and I think they captured them very well.

In - house advisor gave up on the book but watched this pilot show, she is not sure whether she will watch the series. Obviously in a minority here. :D

Not seen the TV version but we listened to the series when it was broadcast on the radio last summer and really enjoyed it.The accents just made us smile - they had such a warmth about them.
I found one of Alexander McCall Smiths other books - '44 Scotland Street' in a shop later in the year but I've still not really managed to get into it despite a couple of attempts.

Oddly enough we met a close friend of the author just a few weeks ago.
