Lucky that I had my camera on me this afternoon to capture this village visitor. If he had landed in the school grounds he would have had a cold wait for the school to open.Still it brought some excitement to the villge ... [ 17. February 2008, 05:49 PM: Message edited by: Kandyfloss ]
excellent pics kandy, you certainly were lucky, i always have my camera with me you just never know what can come your way to snap at, well done
Hi Rosa,It is amazing just how tall these balloons are when they are at their full height.Still wouldn't fancy going up in one though :D
Lovely seeing them so close, Kandy. We had the Budweiser one land in the field in front of our house in Bucks years ago. Quite a sight, isn't it? And all the "chase cars" trying to figure out exactly where it's going to land. :D
Great shots, Kandy. Didn't shiney say it was quite nice? He showed some pics taken when he and Mrs shiney were in Egypt, flying over the Valley of the Kings. Lovely and peaceful. I usually have my camera with me too, rosa, just in case. I'm glad Kandy had hers along today to catch this and share with us.
Very neat landing. Not a sight you see every day in the road is it? Our Docter has a balloon..it has a blinkin great Mushroom on it :D
Hi everyone,we were coming along the dual carriage wayat the bottom of the country road up to the village and as we got closer we thought it might land, but thought it would land in the farmers field. He nearly landed on the railings and the two passers by were called upon to help drag the basket off the top of the railings and down onto the grass. It must have been a shock for them to turn round and see that huge thing :D It certainly brought the village folk out of their houses and stopped the traffic. LoL,we like to go to the big festival In Northampton but last year they started charging to get in to see it and then the weather turned nasty so they didn't fly which upset all the people that had paid. :( KG,I still wouldn't like the idea as I am terrified of heights so I would be sitting in the bottom of the basket  Pal,would love to see the mushroom one.
Great shots Kandy Everybody loves a big balloon. On clear still days we get them flying/floating, whichever, over. They usually use the high school playing field as a landing strip. I would love to travel in one,the views, the serenity, moving slower than a bird, absolute heaven :D
Yes it's loverly being up in one, been a few years now. If it's of interest we started at Weston Hall Staffordshire and finished 15 miles away towards Telford (the wind or breeze decides your destination). Would I go up in one again YES definately. Trevor
Hi Pip and Bludun,we get them the same coming over our village though they usually land in the farmers empty fields not on the cycle path  Still wouldn't get me up in one though.I get virtigo just standing on the front door step  :D
more great shots, yes its amazing got some shots of them over the sea in goa and one came down to land at the beach and nearly hit me, very close indeed  :D
