    John,
Im afraid your arguments dont make sense, one moment you agree with a post the next your contradicting yourself or off on a tangent. Read your posts on this thread.

You did not clarify what NF is I presume you meant national Front. The UK Independanse party is not in anyway related to hate partys like the national front or BNP. If you do reserach UKIP is mainly made up with disenfranchised conservatives who wish to leave the EU. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT.

Dreadfully sorry about your inability to only think linearly PG. Must make you terribly closed minded.

Gogs, Dont be afraid to comment most debate i hope is reasnably light hearted.

Whilst I like a good argument especially regards politics, if i ever met any of the folk on here in person id certainly buy them a drink afterall even if we do differ in opinion politically we do share a love of gardening.

I hope so too. I have friends who politically range from UKIP (one I suspect is actually BNP) to one who supports some loony left revolutionary party. My best mate is actually a past chair of the local Lib-dems and you can't get weirder than that.

Whatever we say is not going to change anything anyway so is purely academic.

This topic is pretty well exhausted now anyway so anyone want to discuss the Peking letter and statement of August 14th 1954, with particular reference to the attacks on the Soviet presidium? :D

Well. I st [IMG] arted a thread and look where it's gone , fascinating. I've only just caught up 'cause after my last post I slipped down the stairs and cracked a couple of ribs. (should have done what my dad told me- make sure I land on my head, then I can't cause any damage :D ) Thanks for the reply about UKIP. Further to what walnut said. I work in the service industry and the Poles I work with have come over here to earn enough money to but a house in Poland. At least 3 of them have managed that, so I suppose the money they earned hasn't stayed in this country.

You cant really blame them, can you cajary?
What we need is a country in the world where we can all rush off to, work a couple of years and then come back and buy a house.

I think I'll give your alternate subject a miss if you dont mind John, it all happened before I was born. :D

Interesting subject and nice to hear the honest views of everyone here.

I am actually an immigrant. A legal immigrant from Switzerland. I have lived in the UK for the past 3+ years, working in the IT industry and paying NHS+Tax which together equal ca. £1000 each month. Haven't claimed benefits or anything.

I'm not anti-Brit. Indeed, I'm quite pro-Brit and their values, customs and culture. I actually came out of love for a very charming Yorkshire boy. [IMG] I love this country (am even pro constitutional monarchy, but let's leave that debate for another time!) and how it's accepted me without regard about where I came from, so long as I was hard working and fair. (My home country, Switzerland, always treated me like a second-class citizen because I'm half non-white!)

You should be proud of Britain, sure it might have some faults (public transport OMG!), but every country does.

As for the NHS and smokers. I am a non-smoker. Unfortunately my parents are chain smokers. They claim that they can stop whenever they want, but I think they're quite addicted. They all pay for the Healthcare in Switzerland, which so far hasn't denied them care just because they were smokers. If they did, I would just have to disagree. I think they should be treated equally, they do pay just like everyone else.
