Anyone noticed the absence of the Trebor Extra Strong mints? I have a real penchant for these things and keep a packet in the car, one by my PC, one with my TV remotes, one in my handbag. I'm a real ESM (extra strong mint) nutter!

But suddenly - no-one has them anymore. Thinking they had undergone a revamp of wrapper, I bought a slightly different, blue packet. Yeuw! SPEARmint. Not the same thing at all, at all!

So I rang Mars-Trebor and asked them what was the reason.

Seems, dear folks, that the factory was slap-bang in the middle of the flood area in Worcestershire and is therefore closed! They are not expected to be up and running until the end of October!

What I want to know is - what are us addicts going to do in the meantime!

[IMG] I love them too & had wondered at the lack of them... My local sweet shop ladt just said she was ordering them, but they were always out of stock...!

[IMG] Then it has to be Kendall mint cake 1st or the Clarnico Peppermint creams for me.... Or there are those round white peppermint ball ones.. can't for the life of me think of the name at the moment.... "A quarter of......"? [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] Yea... Mint Imperials!!!!!!!

How about Terry's hot mints (not real name which may come to me sometime). They probably aren't made anymore, Terry's being more famous for chocolate oranges. My record as a child was 6 mints at once before my mouth caught fire!
I think they were called Terry's Imperial Lozenges or something like it, they came in a little box.

My Hubby is really worried for your sanity Celia and has kindly offered to check the local sweet shop on your behalf (them not being that popular down here it seems). Fingers crossed :D

I am a mint freak and cannot be without them either but go for Trebor SoftMints or TicTac ... and I like spearmint as well. [IMG] Fortunately both are readily available here.

T'other half is a XXX fan, too, and always has a tin of Altoids. Mmmmmmm, Mint Humbugs ... and I'll just have to investigate the Shaws Cinnamon Lozenges. I also always carry around Chiclets 'fire' or 'ice' cinnamon sugarless gum.

I'm 1/2 Welsh Honey Bee :D , I remeber those shops, they did peanut sweets as well. Do you remember those?

Tasted like peanut butter and had little bits of nut inside the peanut looking sweets. Used to sell them in a paper cone :D
