Just had the word s****ed asterixed for some reason, as in I s****ed the scale insect off then sprayed. What's wrong with that word?
Work on the logic of what might offend a church going American. we had a problem with this sort of thing on a caravan forum where you could not call a female dog a bitch, in the pets section, or refer to places like *****tone. The peculiar thing was that it used to replace the words with what it thought were appropriate so the place name became "Men's genitals tone" Strange this software allows you to say bitch but not P e n i s t o n e .What is the logic of not allowing you to refer to a perfectly normal word?
I had the same experience some time ago when writing about kitchen sc raps! There are a few places in the British Isles which contain collections of letters which form words not fit to mention. If you live in such a place, be sure not to tell us all in your post!
its kind of fun though working out what ws meant to be written! so you cant say s****ed the wallpaper of the wall?
It drove me mad for a while but I can be (kind of) fun trying to work out what someone means when it happens, it is a little excessive though but better than people being allowed to swear I suppose. We used to have similar software on our email when I worked for the head office of a pub company, it didn't last long when we had complaints that people who had sent us emails about a pub called The Cock got an email back from our server telling them off for sending offensive emails :D
Why, is one cold and the other a prize winner? You can always put your own * in or a space as cr*p or cr ap :eek: that way it doesn't destroy things completely.
