Has anyone else been tempted by the 97p CDs in Tesco? I saw them today, and thought I'd treat myself..... Currently have Tom Jones playing, which the Windows Media player tells me is "Behind Closed Doors", but sounds rather more like "What's new Pussycat?" to me..... in fact there's only one title that matches - and that's the first one!

Looking forward to seeing how the others match up.....

Really wanted them as exercise music, for while I'm on the exercise bike, or whatever, so it doesn't really matter.......

Anyone else had some pleasant or otherwise experiences like this?

Love it WOO!! I can tell you, the quality isn't too god, so I'll be doing exactly that with Tom Jones - and Roy Orbison too  Rather disappointing - even if they were only for passing the time more pleasantly while on that dratted exercise bike! :D

Good luck to you with the exercise Dendy! I haven't been around here for a while - too busy detoxing then re-toxing. I prefer walking outdoors and light weights at home myself rather than those bikes but if the Cds motivates you, it's worth 97p eh.

The re-toxing sounds more fun, Luckyboo! Nice to see you again! Sorry about your bamboo......

Have a good old nose around the Great GC weigh-in thread - that should keep you amused for a while! :D

I don't know about the Tesco discs, but many numbers on cheap compilations of, for example Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra, are made from radio or live broadcasts rather than the commercially recorded discs that people might expect. I understand that sound recordings go out of copyright after 50 years, so anything prior to 1957 might well be reproduced from the originals.
