I have been know to have the odd larger or two whilst surfing the web.
But I was wondering if anyone else had noticed that larger bottles are getting smaller.
Stella used to be in 330ml bottles, then they went to 300, now I think its 275ml.
The price hovers around the same, grolsh is still in 300s but for how long.
If it carries on like this we will be getting it in those rediculously small continental bottles of 250ml.
What ever happened to the good old pint and half pint, now they can use whatever size bottle they like.
Even the cans have gone the same way, 500ml are now 440ml.
Got a feeling we're being taken for a ride as usual.
No wonder the bottle banks are always so full, and we use so much glass.

And where's the logic in a gift pack of two bottles of Spitfire real ale at 500ml each and an Imperial measure pint glass! [IMG]

I was weened on gin & Martini or G & T, not till my early twenties that I descovered beer (real of course) I remember when.......Taylors Landlord, Ruddles County, Pedigree Owd Rodger, but I only ever drank out of half pint glasses - far too unlady like to do anything but! All the same, I gained respect from the miners in Nottingham as they counted up that I drank 3 halfs to their pints - I did explain the I only stayed for one hour and not four!

Anyway back to the subject - I have now reverted to the old G & T but have noticed that my usual glass is far too small to hold desired quantity, perhaps things just expand and contract with age???

Unlike wine glasses, which get bigger and bigger, and the alcohol content is going up and up..... Worrying, isn't it? :D

I know I shouldn't speak here, but you know I will ... t'other half pays 21p per 330ml bottle for good beer here at 5.1% alcohol.

Waco, gin is running at around £3.35 a bottle, very drinkable, but add half again for brand names. Jack Daniels is half price.

I have a 1.5 litre Grolsch bottle. Not normally a larger type fan but I can say it's now an empty bottle and very nice it was too!

A great disapointment for me is that Old Speckled Hen is now coming in 500ml cans instead of bottles and it just isn't the same brew.

the old gordens gin is still the same as ever, however i am a little partial to a Jamaica rum, when out there you could go to the local shop and try at least 10 different grades free of charge, hence you bought more than you wanted, quite clever really,on that subject we went into Ohios Rhios, only,to find a Woolworths, and was like going back in time, candles, dishclothes, boot polish, all the things you would see about 30 years ago,it was sureal
