We are having disasterous weather at the moment .... exceptionally high winds and thunder and lightning ... along with a waterfall or two of rain!

If this continues, we will be shutting up shop as we don't want a repeat of two years ago early December when we got hit by lightning through the telephone line which put us (and half the Algarve) out of contact for three weeks ... did get a new computer out of it, though (well, the money for one!).

    How's things there?

PS PT did credit us with three weeks non-use of a line and came out on Boxing Day at 9.30am to repair ours. Boxing Day is not a holiday here but we spent Christmas with friends and had a "glass or two" and spent the night so had to get up at 8.30 to get back home for "fear" PT might arrive ... and they were on time!

I've just looked at the weather centre maps and it looks windy, but not as bad as it can get.
The temperature over the next few days is in the region of 14C which is pretty good at this time of the year.
The wind flow is coming up from the south, by Monday however there is one massive low pressure system lieing out in the atlantic just west of Ireland.
Who knows where thats going.

Hi, weatherman! Guess you're talking about you and no me! :D

We've suddenly calmed down and are just drizzling and slightly breezy so have "plugged back in" for a few mos but will be going in a minute or two anyway to watch a programme ... if the TV holds up to it!

The gales they warned us about last night never materialised, heavy rain though but now the sun is out. Looks like monday may be a bit of a bu**er.

Thanks, Marge. All calmed down but we couldn't get a TV signal. It rained all night but it's been lovely and sunny today with a high of about 20oC.

We've still got rain in the forecast but I don't think we'll be as bad as you folk by the forecasts I saw earlier!

Back garden is half underwater, drainage ditches full, pond overflowing, bog garden now a water feature. And we still have a hose pipe ban in force
