    Hello to all!

I'm really starting to get a right ol' buzz about this area (Warwickshire) and its history, particularly with regards to the English Civil War, oh and Guy Fox/Faulkes and er, the regions relation to Scottish history etc.

I've been hearing a bit recently about some of the villages and their fascinating reltionship to all the above e.g. a beautiful cottage in Barby village is reputed to be the place that sparked the civil war; a fantastic historic (obviously) building in Ashby St Ledgers is where Guy Faulkes and his comrades plotted against Parliament, including the fact that I believe it to be the Dun Cow pub in Dunchurch was a regular drinking place for the same group. The list goes on and on...

Anyhow, cutting to the chase - anyone any experience of retrieving some really good info online with regards to British history please? Any really good websites?

    Many thanks!

    Roy

DAG - the War of Jenkins Ear - very interesting, if not a little bit "funny". I kinda wonder - how can the morale of a whole nation be lifted by a gent having his ear cut off?
That's besides the point though - many thanks indeed for the links!

    Kind regards!
