I've given up collecting .. takes up too much space. Gave all my antique wall plates to my best friend when I left Bucks. Used to collect teapots. Still have antique jugs. Still have lots of diamonds ... at least one ring for every finger and then the rest. Did work for a diamond mine for five years but have no diamonds from there ... only a raw piece of stone we've never cracked open ... could be worth millions as it was the highest price diamond mine (per carat) in the world!

Ruby glass, love it, don't have any any more. Have David Winter cottages I'm not interested in ... anyone else interested in them?

On the diamond side of things ... do you know that a carob bean is exactly the weight of a carat .. ie, the carat of a diamond?

Isn't that the origin of the carat?
I am in danger of becoming one of the people you see on TV programs like 'A Life of Grime'- I hate throwing things away in case they come in useful- comes of moving every 2-3 years in my childhood I think. I have a roll of microbore copper tube that has accompanied me for 40 years since my first husband installed some central heating.....
As a society we are addicted to 'things' and have far too many of them.

As well as plants, I also collect stamps.
I specialise in pre-decimal stamps, and also any rugby related philately.
My daughter, Emily (21 months) already has a massive collection of cuddly toys, but we trying to stop that expanding too much as we'll soon run out of space for them all.

I collect boxes - empty cardboard boxes!! I kid you not! I cannot throw away a sturdy box for anything. When I was a theatre manager down in Essex, I had a cupboard stuffed full of boxes of all shapes and sizes and folk from all over the hospital would come to me when they needed one to, say, send a piece of equipment away for repair!! I still do it but they're slightly smaller ones now!!
