Hi UncleTom and welcome to the forum.

The principle of feeding is the same for almost all plants - including Geraniums. There are loads of feeds on the market, and they will all benefit your plant to a greater or lesser degree. I use MiracleGrow, which is a water soluble feed, and is about the cheapest. Really you just follow the instructions. It has a double ended scoop in the packet. I put a level small end scoop in a pint milk bottle, or a level large end scoop in a big watering can. Then you just water the plant with the mixture. I like to do it once a week (when I can remember) - but once every 2 or 3 weeks would be fine.

If you want to get technical, you can use a high potassium feed when its flowering. Potassium is good for flowers and fruits, and its sold under lots of names including tomatoe feeds. Its not just for tomatoes, but for any flowering or fruiting plant. You can use a liquid tomatoe feed, but I prefer to use another solid - Phostrogen, which works out much cheaper than the liquid feeds.

So in summary, early in the year use a balanced feed like MiracleGrow, and later on use a Potassium rich feed like Phostrogen. But don't worry about being too technical - just feed it something. :D

I also like to put plants into as large a pot as I can - bigger pots, bigger plants.
