hello everyone, just joined and thought id post and say hello to everyone and tell you a little about me :D

new to gardening and quite frankly i havent got a clue what im doing lol

recently moved to a house with a very long garden and i have found all sorts of things out there, at first i thought it was just about 10-15 metres long and i was told when i viewed the house there was a little more past the fence, however there was huge amounts of weeds and overgrown trees and bushes everywhere that i couldnt get past the fence! lol

i saw what i thought was the garden and took on the house as i fell in love with it, i started chopping away afew weeks ago and i have found a very long garden with a beautiful pond (home to about 30 frogs:luv:), ive found about 15 little bird houses so far (im sure there are more), tomatoe plants and trees, and roses, sunflowers, just everything,

its a real beautiful place out there but it has just got out of control, so im here looking for lots of info and advice as id love to keep it all going and looking as lovely as it deserves, ive truely never seen a garden that is home to sooooooo many lovely things

What a find! I had such a garden way back in the 60s - was a council house and it was about 3 months before we realised that the 4 poplar trees miles away actually belonged to us! And we had a row of brick built outhouses down there including an outside loo! Imagine walking all the way down there in the middle of the night and/or in winter!

Welcome to GC - I shall enjoy watching out for reports on your progress!

hi and thanks hun, yes i know exactly what you mean, i found a path going along side the whole lenght of the garden! thing is its totally covered in overgrown trees and bushes, but il be working on it, i only realised because i looked up and saw an old fashion washing line above and i thought how can anyone hang washing , then i realised lol .

i think i might get some pics to post as then everyone can maybe give me some idea of what the plants and flowers are as i really know nothing lol

Hi Sunflower. I am new here too and I also have no clue about gardening. I am jealous of your garden as mine is just a square of turf with a path running alongside the garage & back of the house - thats what you get with a new build. The only thing I'm finding is weeds - ha ha. I can't wait to see some photos of your garden, it sounds amazing esp all the bird houses (not sure about frogs though!). I have some plants out front which were planted by the developers. Some I like, some I don't but I think I'm going to tackle the back first. Hope to see you around!!

hi hun, yes its tough being a newbie to gardening as if your anything like me you dont know a weed from a flower lol

my house is a very old house its a georgian house so im told, and does have a beautiful garden underneath all the weeds and overgrown trees and bushes,

took my the whole of saturday and sunday to just get the weeds up from the slabs in the 1st section of the garden, what a nightmare that was

i will get some pics soon, i havent got any yet and id like to see my own progress too lol

im sure il see you around hun,
