Birdy, Have you tried contacting manufacturers of your present fridge to see if they do a larger size? they might be able to help or suggest something.

    Cheers Birdy.
Its always good to know that these things actually exist. Though P&P from the States might be a problem. Have you found a gas powered computer yet? :D

Unfortunatly nik the answer is no but we will have a generator not per fic for running a computer. By the way have found a fridge and freezer in this country now, but quite expensive.

you could try using a power inverter that converts power ie 12/24 volts to 240 volts, then all you would need would be a car battery a power invertor and a standard house fridge/freezer. as you say you have a generator you could charge the battery up when its on that way you could also use your pc with it.
if you decide to use this method make sure you check the wattage used by the fridge/freezer then you can get a power invertor to match. a 600 watt invertor sells for about £80.

With all this infrastructure you're collecting, batteries, inverters, generators, gas cylinders, solar panels, etc wouldn't it be easier to move nearer to civilisation :D , insteas of making your idyllic corner look like Mount Everest :D :D :D
    Apologies

a word of warning birdy if you are useing lead acid batterys they give of a small amount of hydrodgen gas so keep them in a well ventilated area. also if you get a diesel genny it will have an electric start on it which you could modify to an auto start if the inverter breaks. ps i`d love to move to the middle of nowere and so would the wife. lee
