Congratulations on getting there Kavey. I kept out of it thank goodness. Not knowledgeable enough on this. I think you got a good greenhouse though. I got a Hall's just before Christmas after a gap of some years with none. It is excellent with no problems. Do post photos of all the work. Surprised PG didn't offer advice but Walnut is a real all round expert. Keep us informed. And I never did stick my oar in.

Hope all goes well for your purchase. I think sometimes if you are not very handy, leaving the complete job to someone else is well worth the money spent. I would have taken a lot of time to do what a competant builder did in half my time and twice as good.

Soory, I missed this one, Its a big forum and its easy to miss the odd post, In future just give me a quick pm [IMG] .

The spec is overkill and the sort of thing youd specify for a garadge base not a greenhouse.

For the green house Id lay a floating concrete floor.

Id excavate 2" make a shutter then lay it 4" concrete and floating ie on polystrene and dpm.

Cut it half way once cured with the stihl saw to give an expansion gap and fill this with clear silicone. the polystyrene alows for the slab to move slightly if the ground settles or if trees nearby.

Labour £450 materials £400. My prices arent exactly cheap either.

Id sudgest sitting the shed on rail sleapers, no need for a hard base. My own workshop is 8x10 and on sleapers and has never moved.

IMO your origional prices were V steep and the company probably didnt want the work.
