Hi All, i would like to know your experiences with Hardenbergias, especially outside. I have do a bit of research on these little climbing beauties & they seem to be hardy to -5 degrees & ok in UK Teperate Zones 9-10. I live in swansea which is Zone 9 so I'm going to give em a go. I would like to try raising some from seed so if any of you have any & can spare a couple that would be great. One last thing; if you do have one of these great plants please post a pic. :D
Hi, r2oo. I have one but will be of no assistance to you whatsoever. Pete or Strongylodon may be able to advise you. Mine is not in flower at present but I would be pleased to send you some seeds as and when. Here's a picture of one I put up when we were doing A-Z of Climbing Plants ...
thankks lol, that would be great. they do have some plants in Wyevale but they are pricy! Is your Hardenbergia outside?
Ola, r200, bom dia! Having said what I said to you on Monday, I was surprised yesterday to see my Hardenbergia just heaving with buds and one stem of them open! Yesterday was a glorious day here, 20 degrees with intense blue skies, and I should have taken a picture then ... today we are grey and rainy! :( Yes, mine is living outside and, contrary to what people think, we do get light frosts here (although we haven't had any this winter, yet) but only for a few days or a week, not long term. Let me read up on them again when I'm a bit more awake because perhaps I could send you some cuttings rather than waiting till it seeds.
