Hi all.Last year I planted a couple of Ferns in a constantly wet area of my garden, thinking they would survive in the shelter of my shed..wrong!!They are crisp and as dead as a Dodo. Not sure what to put there now as I have visiting cats and pretty sure they have something to do with the ferns demise. One particular cat used to spray my Hebe and that went brown underneath so have cut them right down to minimum. It has to be something that is easy to maintain because I am still learning basic gardening and it's trial and error!!Had Ivy there first but it went all over the place and ended up looking messy. Please suggest something.Cheers me dears. Hi Krafty, Astilbe like it damp, they die back in the Autumn and spring up again like magic. They come in many colours and look attractive. Hope this helps, I'm sure others will be able to think of more.

Not all ferns are evergreen, Krafty - they may not be dead. Don't give up on them yet!

Keep an eye on the ferns, Should be able to tell by the end of the month if it still alive. Look in to the middle and you should see some think like a coil there.
