Garden stuff on offer at Lidl and Aldi in the UK in the next few days... may be worth a look. Details on their websites. Haven't checked the other supermarkets, but that may be worth doing too. All kinds of things - tools, plants, etc. and the prices look interesting. Get there quick, though... ;)

I've got some fantastic offers at Aldi in the past - a laminator for £15, for instance. Lost count of how many others. And in Lidl's I got a nice bumbag with a strap that would encompass my - er - generously proportioned bum! What a find - most of them only fit stick insects! And it was only £2.99!

Now if I could only remember where I put the wretched thing ....

You don't work for them do you, H-A??? :D

Not meant seriously, of course! ;) I mention them quite a bit too, as well as loads of other places.....

I've bought rather a lot of things from there, including tools - really good stuff.

Went this morning, and got a large Bramley apple tree, a raspberry cane, blueberry, blackcurrant, weigela, spiraea, lonicera, a climbing rose, can't remember the name, deutzia - and a pair of heavy-duty gardening gloves - all for less than £15. It does make me wonder about how much, or little, the growers get, though......

I also like some of the stuff in sale in those supermarket.
In Lidl I buy cartons of wonderful peach and pear juice, frankfurters, frikadellen (not that healthy, but I used to eat them when I lived in Germany!), most chocolate (especially with the whole nuts - my favourite) and the "cappuccino" ice cream.
In Aldi I buy some biscuits, havarti cheese, mozzarella cheese, youghurts, cans of bier (grafen walder or...?).
I don't tend to buy any toileteries or cleaning stuff in there.
I do agree that in both stores you can find very cheap household good, toys etc. which are of good enough quality.

I have just received a catalogue from Thompson & Morgan with a £5 voucher enclosed. If the seed order comes to less than £5 you get them free.
The gardening companies must be desperate to sell their wares. At the end of the season in stores like Woolworths and Wilko there always seem to be piles of left-over seed packets going for next to nothing.
