    Hi,
Whilst out playing golf the other day,my friend hit his ball into a ditch, upon finding it we could smell something that in my opinion smelt very much like garlic,my friend said it was indeed wild garlic but we could not determine which plant it was coming .My Q is is there a plant such as wild garlic? can you buy it? and does it spread?.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Stokie.

Yes there is such a plant as wild garlic. Yes it does spread and the last place you would want it is in your garden, 'cos when I say spread I mean SPREAD!
It is edible by the way, but a lot stronger flavour (and stench) than conventional stuff.

    HEED WHAT PAULUSTRIS SAYS!
you do not want this in your garden. You can get garlic from the supermarket, divide the bulbs up and get quite a reasonable crop - fresh garlic has a wonderful nutty flavour when roasted fresh.
